At a shopping mall, I was was riding an escalator to a lower floor when I heard a stranger, the person behind me, say this to his friend “My knee hurts so bad”.
I look over my shoulder and could see he was bending his right knee slightly indicating pain when he bends his knee. While still on the escalator I turned quickly put my hand on his knee and said “Pain go in Jesus name!” The young man looked at me in surprise!
As quickly as I started praying I was finished and about the same time we had arrived at the lower floor. We got off the escalator the young man said “hey the pain is gone! “This gave me the perfect opportunity to tell him about my Jesus. The Jesus who made a way for me to know Father God.
I asked if I could pray for him again, and he said yes!
As I prayed I prayed a prayer like this: Thank you God for sending your son Jesus to take sin from the world. For those that believe that Jesus is you son and died for us on the cross so we may have everlasting life with you. And by helping us know that by turning away from and sin asking for forgiveness, living a life with faith and works that we can have salvation. Thank you God for demonstrating your love for this young man, by healing his knee……….. Ok, God healed the boy, and I preached the gospel. Jesus is Grace, and this is what it looks like for a believer to have grace living inside of them, grace is the power of Jesus that enables us to demonstrate His love.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Our sufficiency: “My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Corinthians 2:9) “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 2:8)
